It is difficult to believe a road and bridge once occupied this space. Almost a dozen years after Cyclone Eline affected parts of Zimbabwe, the effects live on. This bridge in Mwenezi was ripped and tossed over these rocks by a rush of water after a nearby dam burst its banks. The road too, was rent apart. The only evidence that there was once a road is a jagged strip that is not usable. Now drivers have to navigate on the rocks to move from one point to another while buses have abandoned that route altogether. Photo by Matilda Moyo.
